Q1. Why are you doing this?
A1. I determined that this was a challenging and interesting way to support charities, unlike the normal volunteer jobs that charities offer. This is a whole new way to get funding for important programs.
Q2. How did you arrive at 30% and 50% as the amount of revenue that you give to my charity?
A2. I felt strongly that I could break even giving 30% of my revenue to charity. Since travel agencies spend a lot on advertising, the additional 20% contribution is possible if the charities provide publicity. I hope to break even this year.
Q3. How long have you been in the travel business?
A3. I started this business in April of 2007.
Q4. How will I know how much my charity will receive?
A4. I’ll copy you on the letter I send to your charity.
Q5. How will I know my charity received the money?
A5. I will copy you on the letter I send to your charity with the check. This will usually happen within 60 days of the date you complete your trip.
Q6. Can I take a tax deduction for the contribution?
A6. No, I am the person making the donation. However, you can take pride in helping your charity this way. I will let them know that you made the contribution possible.
